The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) programmes are
full-time four-year degree programmes involving the study
and design of computer systems, electronics and associated
system software. It covers the knowledge and techniques
concerned with the design and explanation of electronics
and computer technology in the development of information
processing systems. The courses of these programmes
emphasize the architecture of hardware and software
surroundings, converting the computer from a box of
electronics into a sophisticated information-processing
tool. The programmes focus on the ways in which hardware
and software are constructed and provides an insight into
the purpose of each of the major components of a large
computing system. |
|
|
Special objectives of the
programme are: |
|
-
To develop a fundamental understanding of the electronic
principles, computer architecture, software and data
communication requirements of relevance to emerging
technologies.
-
To develop in-depth skills required for the design,
implementation and performance analysis of cost
effective computing system and data networks.
-
To integrate acquired skills and knowledge through the
final year project.
|
|
A full range of technical subjects that cover major areas
of Engineering and Technology is taught and this includes: |
|
|
-
Computer Networks
-
Optoelectronics
-
Radar & Satellite
Communication
-
Computer Systems
-
Software Engineering
-
Internet Computing
-
Databases
-

The
programmes have been developed in consultation with field
experts to maintain teaching qualities and relevance. In
addition to the academic content emphasis is given to the
development of personal, managerial and presentation
skills. Thus, IQRA graduates will possess a sound
understanding of the fundamentals of computing and a
flexible and well developed approach to problem solving. |

Computer Laboratories |
|
|
|
The
latest Engineering and Technology infrastructure has been
developed at IQRA to fulfill the requirements of the
ever-changing world of emerging technologies. State-of
-the-art computing facilities are available in fully
operational computer and electronics laboratories running
the latest software available. The network contains more
than 200 active nodes distributed over the laboratories,
Information Resource Centre and offices. All computing
resources are interconnected via Local Area Network, which
provides fast connectivity and resource sharing. Branded
Servers form the backbone of the network. |

Analog & Digital Systems Design Laboratory |
|
|
|
The
Analog and Digital Systems Design Laboratory (A&DSDL) will
provide guidance to both Electronics and Computer Systems
students in conducting experiments, developing projects,
and carrying out research in the field of electronics. Its
main objective is to develop a better understanding about
theoretical concepts by supplementing them with practical
work. The A&DSDL is equipped with the latest test and
measuring equipment and is staffed by qualified and
experienced personnel. |

Network Laboratory |
|
|
|
In
order to train the aspiring engineers, IQRA has developed
state-of-the-art Network Lab. This lab is designed
specially to train the students of IQRA about the industry
trends in the field of Networks/Internet works. The
students will be allowed to study and implement Networks
and Internet works. They will also be trained to study
different Operating Systems and Application Servers. The
Lab is equipped with latest industry standard equipment. |
