Iqra University hosted the National Committee Meeting on HR Standards, where Human Resource Managers from all over Pakistan participated to highlight the importance of standardization in HR Practices to embrace collective growth.
Iqra University, Karachi – July 13, 2012 – The National Mirror Committee Meeting on HR Standards, a session that proved to be inspirational and thought provoking, organized by Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Forum Pakistan in collaboration with Iqra University. The eminent gathering attracted more than 150 HR professionals from various business organizations. The aims of the meeting were to present broad and synchronized guidance to HR practitioners about the HR Metrics and to show effectively, standardized practices for the improvement of organizations and their members. Dr. Capt. U. A. G. Isani, Vice Chancellor Iqra University inaugurated the session by welcoming participants and presenters with his wisdom laden words he then congratulated SHRM Forum Pakistan on the success of their endeavors and commended their mission to arise as a standard body, representing all imperative HR matters.
As per agenda the group comprising of eminent HR Practitioners– Mr. Aurangzeb Ahmed Khan (Team Leader) – Head of HR & Company Sectary, Fauji Akbar Portia Marine Terminal, Mr. Sultan Mughal – GM HR, Pakistan Beverage (PEPSI), Mr. S. Zafar Imam – GM HR Ghulam Faruque Group, Ms. Rukhshinda Mehar – HR Business Partner, FAP Terminal presented “Recruitment & Selection Standard’ followed by a question-answer session.
Mr. Zahid Ali Mubarik GPHR, then engrossed the audience by giving a short overview of the background of SHRM Forum Pakistan. He highlighted the fact that the Association is the world’s largest platform representing more than 250,000 members in 140 countries, successfully serving the needs of HR professionals.
Mr. Mubarik continued to entice the audience by pouring information on the development of Management Standards and their benefits. He drew attention towards the verity that HR standards help to specify the minimum effective approaches, measurements and metrics to perform essential workforce management practices. Emphasizing on the fact that Standardization of HR will boost local economy, he informed the addressees about the importance of HR metrics in supporting organizations to develop their management functions. The audience was fully immersed and asked various burning questions throughout the meeting as they were being enlightened about the creditable insights of the HR values and metrics.
Followed was an address by Mr. Tahir Jawaid, VP HR Engro, who represented the idea that all the HR Standards are the guiding principles and a mere framework for the organizations to enhance their workforce productivity. To further enlighten the audience regarding the worldwide scenario of HR practices, Mr. Nayel Khan, CEO Eton Financial (Partner Morgan International) accentuated the idea that organizations should keep themselves updated with the recent HR practices in order to keep pace with day-to-day diversifications in the world of human management.
Towards the end was a socializing session when audience interacted with SHRM officials, presenters and other HR delegates from the best Pakistani organizations.
This meeting was the reflection of strong liaison between the corporate sector of Pakistan and Iqra University. Dr. Isani assured that corporate sector will receive full support from IU in their future endeavors pertaining to Research and Academia – Corporate Relationships.
The SHRM Forum Pakistan thus proved to be an exclusive platform for the HR industry and succeeded in determining a national position with regard to standardization of HR principles. It succeeded in serving its purpose of amalgamating a huge number of HR professionals on one platform and cultivated productive results.
